Unpredictable Activity

Empiric therapy not advised due to potential for resistance but antibiotic may be used if susceptibility confirmed.

No/Insufficient Activity

Organism demonstrates intrinsic resistance, widespread acquired resistance, or antibiotic has unfavorable pharmacodynamics, documented clinical failures, high risk for inducing or selecting resistance, or has not been sufficiently studied in the treatment of infections due to this organism.
