Blastocystis spp (B. hominis)
Blastocystis hominis is comprised of a number of different subtypes with varying degrees of pathogenicity.
Treatment recommended if symptomatic and other causes (infectious/non-infectious) of diarrhea have been excluded.
Little data available on optimal therapy.
