  • Gram positive cocci (aerobic)

Clinical Significance

These organisms are considered harmless saprophytes of skin and mucosa.

 

They have been associated with opportunistic infections in patients with hematological malignancies.

 

Usual Susceptibility Pattern

These organisms are typically susceptible to penicillins, clindamycin, tetracyclines, vancomycin, rifampin, and linezolid.

Penicillin
