- Consider mycobacterial infection.
- If > 6 recurrences/year, some experts recommend suppressive therapy with susceptible oral antibiotic x 3 months, then re-assess. Culture and susceptibility recommended. Benefits of this strategy must be weighed against risks of resistance/adverse effects.
