Saline solutions are available commercially or can be made at home.

Saline solution recipe:

250mL (8 oz or 1 cup) warm distilled or previously boiled/filtered water

½ tsp noniodinated salt

½ tsp baking soda

• Place solution in neti pot or bulb syringe
• Gently squeeze water into upper nostril; water will drain from other nostril.
• Repeat on other side.
