Chalazion
- Sterile, nontender, chronic granulomatous inflammation of the meibomian gland.
- At onset may be indistinguishable from a sty. Resolves after a few days, leaving a painless, slowly growing round mass in the lid.
- Most chalazia disappear after a few months; incision and curettage may be indicated if there is no resolution after 6-8 weeks.
