Higher doses of vancomycin are unlikely to be more beneficial and are not necessary [Clin Microbiol Infect 2021;27:S1-21].  If patient is not responding to standard dosing, suggest assessing for alternative causes of diarrhea, including post-CDI infection irritable bowel syndrome (occurs in up to 25% of patients).
