Clinical Significance
The reservoir for these organisms has not been well established.
They are considered opportunistic pathogens and have been associated with bacteremia, pneumonia and skin/soft tissue infections typically in immunocompromised or debilitated patients.
Usual Susceptibility Pattern
These organisms are resistant to ampicillin and often produce an inducible cephalosporinase (AmpC) rendering them resistant to all cephalosporins.
